Following on from the RSPCA Cupcake Day Fundraiser Mum asked one of our friends at training for the recipe for the fantastically yummy pup cakes so we could share it around. They are delicious!!! They are called pup cakes but as you can see from what is in them they are just as tasty for humans too… just don’t steal mine!
What you need to get out of the cupboard and fridge (with a treat for me while you are in there):
375g wholemeal flour
300ml lite milk
250g peanut butter
2 eggs
1 banana,mashed
4 Tbs honey
4 Tbs veg oil
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
What you do with the stuff:
Mix everything together. I put wet together and dry together, then combine, like making muffins. Also if the peanut butter is from the fridge nuke it a bit, mixes easier.
Bake @ 160 for 15-20 …test if scewer comes out clean , they are done.
How to make it look pretty:
Our friend just used low fat philly for the ‘frosting’ and dried cranberries or cherries….cherries are ok for dogs. You could use fresh bluberries or pieces of strawberry. If you want to make it just for dogs than a little bit of liver treat on top is greatly appreciated.
Makes 20 normal size or about 60 mini ones.
Great thanks for the recipe. Sure the rest of the family will like this too! Ruby love peanut butter:)
